Weymouth and Portland National Sailing Academy

The Academy (www.wpnsa.org.uk) takes advantage of the existing large slipways and the access to some of Europe's best sheltered waters of Portland Harbour and Weymouth Bay. The Academy is set to become the national venue for dinghy sailing.

Sports architects Faulkner Brown have designed a landmark new building and associated facilities which have won several awards.

The operation has been a huge success, hosting events ranging from Olympic sailing trials and World Championships to learn and sail events for the community of Weymouth and Portland.

This was capped in July 2005 when the Academy was confirmed as the sailing venue for the London 2012 Olympics.
