 The SWRDA has invested at Osprey Quay to create a high quality water frontage with various leisure opportunities. There are large areas of public open space, and a new harbour front walkway and cycleway. Current leisure occupiers include the national sailing academy and the historic Portland Castle, with plans for further cafés, bars and a marina. Water activities Portland Harbour is renowned for its watersports activities. With nearby safe bathing beaches, it is a hub for windsurfing and dinghy enthusiasts. Divers come from all over the world to explore the wrecks lying around the coastline. Angling and fishing are superb - Chesil Bank is a top venue for many national and local fishing competitions. Onshore activities As well as a harbour promenade and cycleways planned for Osprey Quay, public spaces will offer a variety of family activities including a boating park. The dramatic coastline, offers spectacular views with many walks and trails along its paths or inland, through woods and picturesque villages. Leisure Amenities Locally, there is a brand new multi-screen cinema complex at Weymouth, a town which offers a wealth of places to relax, eat and be entertained, and a year-round events calendar.
